Android 12 is now available to download on Pixel 3 and up


The Pixel 6 lineup will ship with Android 12, but it’s now available to download on older Pixel phones as well.

The new Google Pixel 6 Y Pixel 6 Pro took the spotlight on Tuesday Pixel event, but many other Pixel phone owners can now get many of the new enhancements shown today by upgrading to Android 12. Google announced that Android 12 has started its rollout for Pixel 3 series and later, and with it those phones will receive the new Material You interface, along with a variety of new tricks.

Android 12 software has been available in beta for the past few months, and this public version coming to Pixel phones will eventually roll out to Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Oppo, and other phones later this year. It’s worth noting, however, that Pixel owners will likely have a degree of exclusivity with the Android 12 version coming to their phones – Google has often given Pixel phones exclusive access to apps like their excellent Recorder app with live transcripts. For now, we know that Android 12 custom color themes It will be, at least initially, exclusive to Pixel.

Other new features for Android 12 include an improved privacy panel, changes to the way notifications are displayed, a new one-handed mode, and a notification history to recover pings you deleted.
