‘Destiny 2’ Releases Grasp Of Avarice Dungeon Music For Free, Download Here

Bungie is very good at making music for its games, and that continues to be the case with its upcoming Destiny 2 content release for the company’s 30th anniversary. For two weeks, Bungie has been handing out little free rewards for “Gjallardays,” and now the Advent calendar has produced something pretty cool.

That would be a free download of a long new track, the upcoming Grasp of Avarice dungeon theme, the main component of the $ 25 paid anniversary pack.

You can download the track for free here and insert it to your desired music device. It’s six minutes long and definitely fits the whole “treasure adventure” dungeon theme. Very bombastic, and is that … a chorus that I listen to? I mean no exactly the same vibe as Halo, and yet … you can certainly hear the influence.

Take a listen to the track here if you don’t want to download the MP3, as I’m not surprised it hit YouTube almost immediately:

The track release also comes with a new art for the dungeon, which you can see above. It’s a skull-shaped rock formation, something any good treasure dungeon needs, and it also echoes the “pirate” theme that was previously attached to the dungeon. For my part, I still believe that we are about to learn the origin story of Xur, the adventurer forced into servitude by the Nine after his treasure hunt and greed went awry, but we’ll see.

The dungeon starts at the exact time the Anniversary Event begins, as Bungie has said that nothing will be timed, unlike normal seasonal content. This is no seasonal content and instead is being treated as an expansion. The good news is that once you buy the dungeon, there is no danger of it being ended or skipped any time soon. The bad news is that if you want to play the dungeon on multiple platforms, you will have to purchase it multiple times.

We don’t know of any details about the dungeon other than its general theme and some rewards, including Gjallarhorn, its catalyst and I suspect the listed weapons we’ve heard of, Eyasluna, 1000 Yard Stare, the Marathon shotgun, Myth Claymore, and of course , the Thorn armor set. We don’t know yet which enemy race we’re fighting, but I’m guessing Fallen, given the pirate theme. There may be something to the Hive though, given that the Hive emerged from the original loot cave where this dungeon is located.

I hope this is a bit of fun for breaking the fourth wall, given the involvement of the Nine and Bungie’s treasures from realms past. Just two more days until launch. Rock this track until then.
