Lucknow: The director of the company that printed the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) questionnaires has been arrested, the police Special Task Force said in a statement on Tuesday, days after a questionnaire leak led to the cancellation of the exam. .

The defendant has been identified as Rai Anup Prasad, a resident of Delhi, the STF said, adding that he was arrested Monday night in Greater Noida. Prasad is the director of RSM FINSERV LTD. at Badarpur in Delhi, which was contracted to print the question papers.

The defendant ignored the confidentiality and security parameters while printing the questionnaires, after which the questionnaire was leaked and the exam had to be canceled, he said. A case against Prasad and four others has been registered at the Surajpur police station in various sections of the IPC, the statement said, adding that efforts are underway to catch the rest of the accused.

An arrest was also made in Baghpat, the STF said. The arrested person has been identified as Rahul Chaudhary, who used to provide a leaked questionnaire to candidates for money.

The UPTET scheduled for Sunday was canceled after the leak of the questionnaire. About 20 lakh candidates were due to appear for the test on Sunday. They will now appear on a rescheduled exam, which will take place in a month. In a statement issued here, the state government said 29 people have been arrested for this reason.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the National Security Law and the Gangsters Law will be invoked against the culprits.
