In the year 2021, the main entrance exams were canceled after the document was leaked. Police have made several arrests in these respective paper leak cases. The documents were reportedly leaked on a WhatsApp group or by the participation of one or more people.
In the face of many document leaks, students, teachers, and parents are experiencing despondency and helplessness. The most important thing is that the credibility of the educational system is at stake.
Here is the list of four major exams that have been clouded by controversy.
1. Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET)
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a statewide mandatory teacher eligibility test for teachers wishing to teach elementary or upper elementary classes in state board affiliated schools.
This important entrance exam has been canceled for teachers in Uttar Pradesh, after the questionnaire was leaked before the start of the exam on November 28, 2021.
The document was leaked on a WhatsApp group. The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested 23 people using technical and other intelligence from different cities in the state.
Officials have not yet announced the new dates for the UPTET exams. Applicants planning to sit for the exam can check the latest related update on the official website i.e updeled.gov.in.
2. Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHAADA)
MHADA has posted 575 vacancies for junior engineer, secretary, senior secretary, assistant engineer, executive engineer, etc. on the official website, i.e. mhada.gov.in.
The state government canceled the recruiting exam for 14 engineering and other positions at the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority after an attempt to leak the exam on December 12, 2021.
Police recovered nine flash drives containing PDF files of the question paper and a laptop containing similar incriminating material from them.

3. National Income Eligibility Test (NEET) 2021
The 2021 National Cum Entrance Eligibility Exam (NEET), the undergraduate entrance medical exam, has been the subject of controversy this year. Even before the examination took place, reports claimed that the examination document had been leaked and led to social media campaigns.
During the exam, the NEET 2021 quiz from the exam was found floating around on social media about half an hour before the exam started. The police arrested an 18-year-old candidate, in charge of the administration unit of the examination center, and four other people in connection with the case.
Apart from this, the police have recovered copies of 15 admission cards, four photos of applicants, four receipts from the courier, two mobile phones containing conversations from gang members. The exam was conducted on September 12, 2021, amid controversy.
4. Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB)
The Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) written examination for the recruitment of 186 office heads was conducted at different centers across the state on December 12, 2021, with nearly 88,000 applicants applying for the proof.
Gujarat police arrested six people allegedly involved in the leak of the question paper. The defendants had managed to acquire the question paper before the exam and thereafter they sold it to the applicants for almost 15 lakh rupees and also helped them solve the paper in various places.
Further investigations are underway on this case.
