Honda Amaze Rivals The Kia Sonet According To A Leaked Document!

Honda Amaze Rivals
The Honda Amaze is now in its second generation

The Honda Amaze competes with a compact SUV according to a leaked document and we can’t say why.

Which cars are considered direct rivals of the Honda Amaze? Naturally, they would be the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, vehicles that also position themselves in the segment of compact saloons in which the Japanese product competes.

However, according to a leaked document, the veracity of which has not been determined, it is the Kia Sonet, which is a compact SUV that rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the Tata Nexon and the like.

Said to be Honda’s internal training document, again this has not been verified, the file compares the Amaze to the Sonet rather than pitting the Korean car against Honda’s WR-V, which is positioned as a compact SUV .

Honda Amaze Rivals
Despite being less than 4 meters long, the cars compete in different segments.

The document states that the Amaze excels in Honda’s core values, which are “maximum man, minimum machine”, durability, quality and reliability.

It also claims the car has “bold styling, outstanding driving performance, comfort, the latest technology and high safety” and the best resale value in the segment.

Speaking of the Sonet, the document says that the lower grades of the compact SUV lose competing features, while its most touted features, such as ventilated power seats, BOSE sound system, side and curtain airbags, etc., are present in the “overrated GTX + variant”.

Comparing the Amaze to the Sonet, he says that the compact sedan has a better suspension setup, a larger trunk, a more powerful 1.2-liter gasoline engine, gasoline CVT with shift paddles, and a diesel CVT that is apparently better than the Sonet’s diesel-automatic combo when it comes to the driving experience and the asking price.

Honda Amaze and Kia Sonet powertrain comparison
Those are some bold claims about the Amaze’s automatic diesel powertrain.

The list goes on and on and there are even claims like Kia and its dealers are not mature enough to address the issues that can arise in products that certainly won’t go well with the Korean brand.

If the Honda Amaze competes with the Kia Sonet, it would only be at the slightly comparable asking price of the basic variants as the Amaze costs between Rs. 6.32 lakhs and Rs. 11.15 lakhs, while the Sonet costs between Rs. 6.89 lakhs and Rs. 13.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
