HONOR’s First Foldable Smartphone Is Coming, And Its Specs Just Leaked

HONOR has confirmed that its first foldable smartphone is coming, and it will be called HONOR Magic V. The company even teased its design recently. Well, it looks like HONOR’s first foldable smartphone will be quite powerful, if the leaked specs are to be believed.

A well-known insider, Digital Chat Station, shared some of the phone’s specs via Weibo. The HONOR Magic V was previously confirmed to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. That indicates that we are looking at a high-end device, as it is Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC.

HONOR’s First Foldable Smartphone Will Offer Pretty Powerful Specs

That said, the insider had something to add. He said the internal display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, while the outer panel will have a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s great to see since neither will be 60Hz.

The insider also said that the phone’s main camera will be 50 megapixels. However, we still don’t know which sensor HONOR will use. We don’t know what battery capacity to expect, but you’ll be able to recharge it quickly thanks to the 66W fast wired charge.

We’re not sure if the phone will offer wireless charging, but it will offer immensely fast wired charging. Android 12 will come pre-installed on the device, with the HONOR skin, and Google services, of course.

The insider also said that both screens will include a hole for the screen camera. The main one will include it in the upper right corner, while it will be centered on the outer screen.

This phone comes to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 3

The HONOR Magic V will be made of metal and glass, almost certainly, although that has yet to be confirmed. This phone is going to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and it is likely to be similar in terms of size.

HONOR indirectly confirmed that the Magic V will be noticeably larger than the OPPO Find N, for better or worse. This smartphone is coming in the near future, by the way. It will be made official in the first quarter of 2022, and HONOR may show it during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
