  • While the steps required to install Windows 11 on such a small device can be a bit complex, make sure you don’t get overwhelmed. If you can reproduce the steps given in this guide identically in the correct order, you should have Windows 11 up and running in no time.
  • However, before starting the process, please note that the build of Windows 11 that you will be using for this tutorial is not an official version from Microsoft. So it is still prone to various bugs that have yet to be discovered.
  • These are the necessary steps to follow to install Windows 11 on Raspberry Pi 4:

Download the required build of Windows 11/10

  • First, go to the UUP Dump website and search for “Windows 11 ARM” in the search bar at the top.
  • Now, you will see several builds for Windows 11 out of which you need to select the latest version designed for Arm64 architecture
  • After choosing the required build, select your preferred language from the drop-down menu on the next page
  • When selecting the language, the site will ask you to choose the required edition. You can choose the Home or Pro version and click the “Next” button to continue.
  • Choose the option called “Download and Convert to ISO” and click “Create Download Package” to start downloading the ISO file to your computer.

Extract Windows 11/10 ISO

  • When the file is successfully downloaded to your computer, extract it to your preferred location by right-clicking and choosing the “Extract to” option in the presence of software such as WinRAR
  • Once the file has been successfully extracted, navigate to the destination folder and double-click the “UUP_Download_Windows.CMD” file.
  • A security message will be triggered on your device, and you simply need to click the “More info” option, followed by the “Run anyway” option to continue.
  • Now, a command prompt window will appear with a running process. All you need to do is wait for the process to complete and press the “0” key on your keyboard to exit.

Create a bootable storage device for Windows 11/10

  • Start by connecting your storage device to the computer using a suitable input method
  • Now, download “Raspberry Imager Tool” on your computer and install it by following the on-screen instructions.
  • Once it has been successfully installed, launch the tool and choose your preferred language, then click the “Next” button.
  • Next, select the storage device you connected to the PC, and from the “Device Type” drop-down menu, select Raspberry Pi 4 to continue.
  • Then click on the three dots next to the “Image file” section and find the Windows 11 image you downloaded and click the Next button
  • On the next screen, select the option “Use the latest driver package on the server” and click the next option
  • In the UEFI firmware tab on the next screen, choose the option “Use the latest UEFI firmware available on the server”, followed by the next button
  • At this point, you will see a setup screen where you don’t have to modify anything and just click the “Next” button to continue.
  • Lastly, there should be an overview of the installation specifications. After verifying that everything is selected correctly, you can click the “Install” button
  • Wait for the installation process to complete and once done, you can eject your storage device and connect it to your Raspberry Pi 4

  • Start your Raspberry Pi and repeatedly press the ESC button on your keyboard to access the settings menu
  • In the settings menu, choose the “Device Manager” option and press the Enter key on your keyboard
  • Now, in the following interface, select the option “Raspberry Pi Configuration”, followed by the option “Advanced Configuration” in the next window.
  • In the advanced configuration section, you will need to remove the RAM limit by deactivating the option “Limit RAM to 3 Gb” and save the configuration by pressing the F10 key.
  • Then navigate to the “Display Settings” settings in the main menu and choose a preferred resolution based on your screen size and save the settings by pressing the F10 key
  • Lastly, exit the settings menu and click the Continue button to continue the Windows 11 boot process
