Leaked PS Plus lineup for January features amazing PS5, PS4 games

Sony has yet to officially announce next month’s PlayStation Plus free game lineup, but if Dealabs’ leaked lineup can be trusted, PS Plus subscribers will be in for great pleasure in January. According to the leak, the games are rumored to be DIRT 5 (PS5, PS4), Deep Rock Galactic (PS5, PS4), and Persona 5 Strikers (PS4). Again, I don’t know if this is true, but if it is, this lineup would be a great way to start the new year.

DIRT 5 is Codemaster’s off-road arcade racing game. It features some amazing environmental landscapes and a variety of iconic cars and trucks.

Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of racing, so I’m a lot more excited for the other two games in the lineup. Deep Rock Galactic is a sci-fi cooperative shooter in which you and up to four other space dwarf players explore procedurally generated cave systems. There are four playable classes to choose from, each with its own level of experience and unlocks. The actual concept is pretty simple, go on a mission and complete the objectives, which are things like mining specific materials, stealing alien eggs, recovering lost gear, or taking out specific enemies.

Deep Rock Galactic was released on Xbox and PC last year and I played it a bit with some friends. We had so much fun and can’t wait to dive back into the caves when it hits PlayStation. Deep Rock Galactic is slated to make its PlayStation debut in January 2022, so it wouldn’t be a total surprise to see it launch as a PS Plus title.

Of the three games in the lineup that are rumored, the thing that surprises me the most is watching Persona 5 Strikers. I understand that it is a niche game, but it is also relatively new, released earlier this year. In fact, we reviewed this game on Nintendo Switch, praising it as a love letter to Persona 5.

Assuming this is the legitimate game lineup, they’ll be free starting January 4, 2022. Hopefully we’ll get some confirmation soon, but with the holidays just a few days away, it might not happen until next week.
