New Pagani C10 leaked ahead of 2022 unveiling

The upcoming Pagani C10 hypercar, which will replace the decade-old Huayra, appears to have been posted on social media months before its official unveiling.

A depiction of the C10 allegedly appeared on a new, anonymous Instagram account last week, accompanied by an image of a document allegedly targeted at potential buyers, suggesting that the leak stemmed from an initial customer introduction. The original photographs have now been removed, but they are circulating widely online.

The design combines various elements from previous Pagani designs. Roof skylights and wide front grille are reminiscent of the Huayra, while the teardrop cabin shape is reminiscent of the older Zonda.

The two small rear wings and the angular front hood in particular evoke the styling of some of the early Pagani models, such as the C12 S.

The new features can also be seen throughout the car. Small fins on the front grille appear to be possible aerodynamic aids, while subtle but considerable air intakes in the roof and rear buttresses almost confirm that the C10 will be powered by an internal combustion engine.

The C10, which is said to be out of stock, is rumored to use a new version of Mercedes-AMG’s 6.0-liter biturbo V12. Buyers will be offered the option of a manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automatic with shift paddles.

Pagani focuses on handling rather than power with the C10. In an interview with Italian magazine Quattroruote, founder and boss Horacio Pagani said the company has done more to reduce weight than any other aspect of design.

Pagani plans to build up to 300 examples of the C10, including not only coupe and roadster variants, but also special models.

The Italian company has claimed that the interest of American customers alone could have filled the entire production.

The C10 is expected to be the last pure-combustion Pagani, with future models hybridizing. It will be released later this year.
