Lille is reportedly seeking £ 40 million for Botman, while Elneny, Kelly and Rodon are valued at £ 9 million according to Transfermarkt. Ginter is valued at roughly £ 25 million, although Newcastle will likely have to pay more to get him out of the German club.

So Newcastle’s five-man roster has been valued at just £ 100 million and would still leave them with no more attacking reinforcements.

Newcastle’s chief recruiter Steve Nickson has been reported to have been leading the transfer planning as the club continues to search for a football director. The Mail also reported that the club hired the independent recruitment agency Nolan Partners to assist in the search for a soccer director.

NUFC legend emphasizes the need for recruitment in January

Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee believes The Magpies will fall if they don’t get the right reinforcements in January.

The 55-year-old said that “five or six players” will be the target of the new owners of the club in an attempt to avoid the fall.

“If Newcastle does not bring reinforcements, we will go down,” Lee told Coffee Friend. “The players have improved since Eddie Howe came in, but still, if Newcastle don’t have players, it’s smart enough.” know they are not good enough [to keep the club up].

“There is a reason Newcastle is where it is.”

Here’s how PIF’s takeover of Newcastle United could still have been approved yesterday …

Gayle ‘ideal signing’ for West Brom

According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Jordan Hugill’s loan at Norwich City’s West Bromwich Albion will be discontinued in January.

This could pave the way for Newcastle forward Dwight Gayle to return to The Hawthorns for another loan period in January.

The measure would be an initial loan with a purchase option depending on the promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking to Football Insider, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson said: “I think Dwight Gayle is the best option. [for West Brom].

“Their opportunities have been limited in Newcastle and now they will look bigger and better. I think Gayle would be great.

“I thought Karlan Grant would take a step forward in the Championship. That is your level. He has shown that he can score many goals there.

“But if they are looking in the Premier League for a loan, Gayle would be the man for me. It would be the ideal signing for them. It’s proven to that level.

“You’d think it would be easy to do because he doesn’t play at Newcastle.”
