Expanding on their investigation into the government’s string of recruitment malpractices, the Pune Police said on Tuesday that they had made two new arrests on Monday in connection with the leak of the recruitment exam of ‘Group C’ employees in the department of State health. This is the fifth case of embezzlement in the recruitment process discovered by cybercrime detectives from the Pune City Police and the number of people arrested has reached 28 in the last month.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said on Tuesday: “Our investigation has now revealed that the examination for the recruitment of employees of Group C of the Department of Health, which was carried out on 24 October, was leaked. We have arrested two more people who acted as agents in this process. Anywhere between Rs 5 lakh to 8 lakh were taken from each of the candidates who received the leaked document. With this, the total number of arrests in five cases has reached 28 ”.
The two detainees have been identified as Nishid Gaikwad (43) and Rahul Linghot (35).
