After being approached by the Mirror Tuesday night, Bailey resigned as chairman of the London Assembly crime and police committee.

The picture also shows several other guests, including billionaire donor Tory Nick Candy, who can be seen in the gray jacket, lifting glasses of wine.

You can also see a buffet table.

One of the revelers was an important figure in Boris Johnson’s leadership election campaign.

Last week it emerged that conservative staff danced and drank wine late into the night and revelers damaged a door in what was described as a “raucous” event.

At the time, the capital was under Level 2 restrictions that prohibited any social mixing between households in the interior.

Conservatives have said “formal disciplinary action” has been taken against four CCHQ staff members attached to the campaign.

A spokesperson said: “CCHQ senior staff learned of an unauthorized social gathering in the basement of [CCHQ] hosted by Bailey’s campaign the night of December 14th.

“Formal disciplinary action was taken against the four CCHQ staff who were assigned to the Bailey campaign.”

Scotland Yard has so far refused to investigate the Christmas gatherings citing a lack of evidence.

Bailey, who does not drink alcohol, is said to have left the party in the early evening, shortly after the photo was taken.

A spokesperson for Shaun Bailey’s campaign said: “On the evening of December 14, 2020, at the end of the workday, the campaign hosted an after-work event to thank the campaign staff for their efforts over the course of the anus.

“This was a serious error of judgment and we fully accept that a meeting like this since that moment was a mistake and we apologize without reservation.”

A Candy spokesperson said: “Nick Candy attended Shaun Bailey’s campaign office for an end of the year review on December 14, 2021. He gave a short thank you speech to the team and spent time with Shaun Bailey to discuss campaign affairs. before leaving shortly after. “
