New Delhi, Dec 24 (IASN) Short video app Chingari, one of TikTok’s few rivals, announced on Friday that it has surpassed 107 million downloads on the Google Playstore.
Chingari had recently linked with multiple platforms for unique entertainment and engagement collaborations, including partnering with celebrity-based apps, digital content providers, and Indian language video sharing platforms.
“We launched Chingari with the concept of being unique in terms of a platform for sharing short videos. It has constantly pushed us to go beyond the best. Chingari as a brand has now really come up with this current hit on the charts. For us, this is just the beginning of bigger achievements, ” said Sumit Ghosh, co-founder and CEO of Chingari App, in a statement.
Chingari has also worked extensively with the music industry. It includes partnerships with music labels in Indian languages such as Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali and Bhojpuri to offer users regional language options. The app has collaborated with artists like Nucleya for successful concerts.
To keep its users hooked, Chingari has also added the first-of-a-kind AR (Augmented Reality) filters to its platform to give content creators more advanced front and rear camera tools to work with.
In addition, a content creator on this platform not only gains recognition and sponsorships, but also receives points (depending on the virality of the video) that can be exchanged for money.
The company previously revealed that the app logged around 100,000 downloads per hour at one point. The Chingari app also recorded 500,000 downloads in just 72 hours.
With 107 million downloads, Chingari has climbed the popularity charts with its myriad of unique offerings that meet changing user demands, the company claims.
