2022 is set to start off with a big bang in the automotive space with the launch of the updated Skoda Kodiaq seven-seater SUV. This revamped version is expected to arrive in the second week of January, when select dealers begin making advance reservations. However, there is more good news. According to a Team-BHP report, the Kodiaq facelift will come in three variants: Style, Sportline, and L&K. More importantly, the price is expected to start from Rs 36.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
The launch of the Kodiaq facelift will mark the return of the SUV to the Indian market nearly two years after it was pulled from the shelves due to the implementation of BS6 emission standards in April 2022. The car made its world debut in April 2022. this year and is likely to hit the Indian market with nine airbags as standard, straight from the basic variant.

The changes to the 2022 Kodiaq are visible early on and the SUV now sports a larger grille design with heavy chrome accents. According to ZigWheels, the LED headlights have a sleek design and a new two-tone alloy wheel also finds a place on the new Kodiaq. The changes continue to the rear of the vehicle and we see LED taillights and an updated bumper design. Kodiaq also sports a panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the SUV is packed with features including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker Canton sound system, a wireless charger, and ambient lighting in the footwell. In terms of safety and convenience features, the vehicle will come with ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, cruise control, and tire pressure monitoring.
But it is the change in the motor unit that has caught the attention of potential buyers. Replacing the outgoing 150hp 2-liter TDI unit, the Kodiaq 2022 comes with a 190hp, 320Nm 2.0-liter petrol engine previously seen in cars like the Octavia and Superb. The transmission functions will be carried out by means of a 7-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive as standard.
