VISAKHAPATNAM: Panic gripped the Parawada area of ​​Visakhapatnam following a leak of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from a tanker truck that capsized Monday morning.
The tanker truck overturned near the LPG bottling company, where several pharmaceutical companies were located.
Police said the LPG leak from the tanker occurred when a crew tried to lift the overturned tanker with the help of a crane.
Fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the scene and have managed to prevent the fire by continuously spraying water and foam on the tanker for the past hour.
People living in nearby areas were asked to evacuate after the LPG leak.
Safety experts from the Oil Company have come to the scene and are making plans to plug the leak and transfer the gas to another tanker.
