Want to Download Aadhaar and Save it on Your Phone? Here’s a Quick Link

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization that is the backbone behind everything related to Aadhaar, continues to create new facilities to alleviate the problems of users who have Aadhaar cards. Recently, in the face of the pandemic, the UIDAI has announced that Aadhaar card holders can download Aadhaar online anytime, anywhere. For this, the UIDAI has issued a direct link Aadhaar through which users can download their unique 12-digit ID, which has become an essential document in various walks of life. The Aadhaar card can be downloaded using the Aadhaar direct link eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ at the user’s convenience.

In a tweet dated June 28, 2021, the UIDAI said: “You can choose to download ‘Regular Aadhaar’ which shows the full Aadhaar number or ‘Masked Aadhaar’ which shows only the last four digits.”

How to download Aadhaar from Direct Link

Step 1: Go to the website eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and select the option ‘Download electronic copy of your Aadhaar’

Step 2: Select ‘Aadhaar Number’ as reference and add the 12 digit unique ID in the box shown on the page

Step 3: If you want a masked Aadhaar card, click on the option ‘I want a masked Aadhaar’

Step 4: Click on Send OTP option after this. You will then receive a one-time password on your mobile phone number linked to Aadhaar

Step 5: Once you receive the OTP, you need to enter it and click on the ‘Submit’ option

Step 6: After successful OTP authentication, you can download the PDF version of your Aadhaar by clicking the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option

Step 7: You can now access your Aadhaar card securely using the first four digits of your date of birth as your password

Step 8: You can save the PDF version of your Aadhaar to your phone or computer for future reference. The masked Aadhaar will hide the first eight digits of their Aadhaar number for security reasons

The UIDAI has also published other ways to download Aadhaar. Aadhaar cards can be downloaded using the Enrollment ID or Virtual ID (VID). Both can be done online, through the same link. Just enter your Enrollment ID or Virtual ID to download Aadhaar online and then follow the same steps.
