Next week, Xiaomi will have a big launch for its next flagship smartphone family in China. The ‘vanilla’ model of Xiaomi 12 has already been leaked and teased a lot, and so far we found that it will be a smaller phone than you expected: its 6.28 “screen allows a width of 69.9 mm.
While the panel is “only” 1080p, it is already rumored to have received an “A +” score from DisplayMate. We also expect the Xiaomi 12 to work with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The rest of the spec details were reportedly leaked in China today, along with the pricing information. Let’s dive in, okay?
The Xiaomi 12 is said to have a 50 MP main rear camera with a 1 / 1.28 “sensor with a 1.22um pixel size (2.44um when stored), f / 1.9 aperture and OIS. There is also an ultrawide of 123 degree 13 MP, and a 3x zoom snapper with OIS. Storage is UFS 3.1 and RAM is LPDDR5, and the phone unsurprisingly supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, as well as NSA and SA 5G The display has a 120Hz refresh rate and 16,000 brightness levels, as well as HDR10 + and Dolby Vision.
The Xiaomi 12 weighs 180 g, is powered by MIUI 13 and comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. The stereo speakers are compatible with Dolby Atmos.
The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is said to cost CNY 3,699 (roughly $ 580 or € 512 at current exchange rates), while doubling the storage to 256GB gets you CNY 3,999 ($ 627, € 554). The top of the line version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost CNY 4399 ($ 690 or € 609).
While everything in this leak seems at least plausible, don’t forget that this is an unconfirmed rumor at this point, so don’t take it for granted. Xiaomi will spill the official beans soon enough.
